In Totara class, we are doing lanterns because we wanted to enter a compensation and to win it. We are learning about endangered animals. The endangered animals are the Maui Dolphin, NZ sea Lion and Fiordland crested. We are going to send a photo of our lanterns and it will go in to a competition at Wellington lantern festival😁
Welome to Totara Whānau we are a year 5 and 6 class at Oruaiti school in the Far North. Our teacher is Whaea Jorja.

baby birds
On one very nice sunny afternoon, I was walking past a very colourful tree when I saw a nest with little, little baby eggs in it . When I saw the nest the mum flew in its nest with a very big , fat tummy.
Then I heard a “CRACK and a CRUNCH” coming from the nest. I said “what was the noise , mm, maybe it was coming from the nest, yeah that's right the eggs are hatching, I should have known”. Then I heard some chirping coming from the little baby birds. Then there flew off with their mum.
